Wind Energy Pros and Cons

Wind Turbine
Who would like to use the wind energy for itself, begins naturally first to weigh pro and cons. We summarized advantages and disadvantages, which can arise as a result of the use of wind energy or wind-power plants for the operator for it. Advantages of the wind energy Wind is a raw material with infinite resources: The uneven exposure to the sun of the earth and the differences of pressure and temperature resulting from it guarantee that wind uses itself as a raw material humans too make can, will never go out. It will come with the wind energy therefore never to a scarceness, as with other raw materials e.g. oil, natural gas or coal. Wind energy provides for a positive CO2 – balance: While a wind-power plant is operated, no emissions of the harmful gas CO2 result. This fact has a positive influence on the entire mission at CO2 with an intensified use of wind-power plants. For this reason the use from wind energy can contribute to reduce the negative effects of the climate change. The use of wind force makes related to energy policy independent: In order to be able to ensure the power supply of the country, the Federal Republic of Germany depends on other raw material suppliers. This dependence leads to the fact that one has little influence at the expense of the respective imported raw materials. Thus the building of wind-power plant, as well as the development of other renewable energies contribute to related to energy policy independence.
Wind energy creates new jobs: For the production, maintenance and advancement of wind-power plants it requires many manpowers. Beside craftsmen, engineers and purchase men also lawyers are in the industry active. In Europe the wind industry employs 70000 humans at present. If the structure of further wind-power plant is operated in such a way forced as before, still many further jobs within this range will develop. Disadvantages of the wind energy Wind is with difficulty calculable: Since wind at different places with different speeds blows, it cannot be used optimally. So one can say after the today’s state of the art that the wind energy would let itself use substantially more efficiently, if it would blow with continuous strong during a longer period.

Wind Flow
One cannot store wind: The kinetic energy of the wind cannot be stored as such. It must be thus always converted into transportable electric current. , It necessarily still different energy sources make this fact plus the Konstanz lacking of the wind to use, since the wind energy cannot take constant off the complete need of a whole region. Windwheels impair the landscape: A disadvantage, which one should not ausserachtlaßen with the building of new wind-power plants, is the impairment of the landscape. In former times humans pursued the building of these plants still with large interest, the reality look however differently. Many humans are made nervous of the sight of these buildings and feel impaired. The problem here is that it is difficult straight in wind-rich regions such as East Frisia a place for wind-power plant to find, at which they are not visible for the inhabitants of the landscape. However this disadvantage for most is acceptable in the relation for the advantages of the use of wind energy.
